Siding is the part of your home's envelope people notice least until water is already behind it. On the Gulf Coast it takes constant humidity, hard UV, wind-driven rain and the occasional hailstorm — and it fails quietly.
Because we are already working on roofs and gutters across Fort Bend County, we see a great deal of siding damage that homeowners have not spotted yet. Catching it early is usually the difference between replacing a few boards and repairing a wall.
Signs your siding needs attention
- Boards that are cracked, split, buckled or pulling away from the wall
- Soft or spongy spots when pressed — a strong sign of moisture behind the surface
- Paint that will not hold, blistering or peeling within a year or two of a repaint
- Visible gaps at seams, corners or around windows and doors
- Mildew, algae or dark streaking that returns quickly after cleaning
- Rising cooling bills, which can point to failed insulation behind the siding
- Wasp, bee or rodent activity getting in behind loose boards
Repair or replace
The same honest assessment we apply to roofs applies here. Localised damage on an otherwise sound wall is a repair. We will tell you when that is the case, even though a replacement would be the larger job for us.
Full replacement makes sense when damage is widespread, when moisture has already reached the sheathing, or when the siding is at the end of its service life and you are repairing it repeatedly.
What we install
- Fiber cement — the most durable choice for Gulf Coast humidity and heat
- Vinyl — cost-effective and low maintenance
- Engineered wood — the look of timber with better moisture tolerance
- Board and batten, lap and shake profiles
- Soffit, fascia and trim replacement
Siding, roofing and gutters together
Water damage rarely respects the boundary between trades. A failing gutter soaks the fascia, the fascia rots, and the siding beneath it goes next. Because we handle all three, we can address the cause rather than just the symptom you noticed.
Storm and insurance work
Hail and wind damage to siding is often claimable alongside roof damage, and adjusters assess them together. If a storm has been through your neighborhood, we will document the siding at the same time as the roof.
