Interior painting is the job most homeowners think they can put off, and then live with for another five years. We take the part people actually dread — the prep, the masking, the cleanup — as seriously as the paint itself. And because we do drywall too, damaged walls get fixed properly rather than painted over.
Big State Roof Solutions is a family-owned contractor based in Sugar Land. Painting and drywall sit alongside our roofing and exterior work, which means the same crews, the same standards, and one company accountable for the result.
Drywall services
Paint only looks as good as the surface under it. We handle the wall itself, not just the color on it.
Drywall installation
Full installation for walls and ceilings in residential and light commercial spaces, covering:
- Measurement and layout
- Hanging drywall sheets
- Precision cutting around outlets and fixtures
- Fastening to studs or ceiling joists
- Tape, mud and sanding to a smooth finish
We work with standard drywall as well as specialty boards — moisture-resistant (green board) and fire-rated drywall for kitchens, bathrooms and garages.
Drywall repairs
From small dents to large holes, we restore walls so the damage never shows. We fix:
- Water damage
- Nail pops
- Corner bead issues
- Cracks from settling
- Textured surface restoration
- Ceiling damage
After repairs, we match your wall's existing finish and paint so no one can tell it was ever touched.
What interior painting actually involves
A paint job lasts or fails on what happens before the first coat. Most of the work is preparation:
- Furniture moved and covered, floors and fixtures masked properly
- Nail holes, dents and hairline cracks filled and sanded flush
- Water stains sealed so they cannot bleed back through the finish
- Glossy or previously oil-painted surfaces scuffed and primed so the new coat bonds
- Caulking renewed at trim, baseboards and door casings
- Cut lines taped and cut by hand at ceilings and corners
Rooms we paint most often
- Living areas, bedrooms and hallways
- Kitchens and bathrooms, using finishes that tolerate moisture and scrubbing
- Ceilings, including flat-to-smooth refinishing
- Trim, baseboards, crown moulding, doors and door frames
- Garages, utility rooms and closets
Every project type
Home renovations — clean, crisp walls and finishes for a modern, updated feel.
Room additions and conversions — converting a bedroom or a garage into usable space, finished to match the rest of the house.
Commercial and office spaces — professional finishes with minimal disruption to trading.
Water or storm damage restoration — experienced in working with insurance claims and disaster restoration.
Working in an occupied home
Most of our interior work happens while people are living there. Crews contain one area at a time, keep walkways clear, and clean up at the end of each day rather than at the end of the job. If you have pets or someone working from home, tell us and we will plan the sequence around it.
How we quote it
We walk the rooms with you, measure, and note anything that needs repair before painting. The quote states the surfaces, the number of coats and the product. If a room needs drywall work or a stain-blocking primer, that is in the quote rather than appearing later as a change order.
Common questions
Do I need to supply paint or drywall materials?
No. We handle all material sourcing and bring everything needed for your project, so you don't have to buy anything.
How long does a typical room take to finish?
Most drywall and paint jobs are completed within one to three days, depending on drying time and project size.
Can you match existing wall texture or paint color?
Yes. We specialise in color matching and textured finishes, so repaired areas blend with your current interior.
Is it better to paint before or after flooring?
Ideally, painting should be done before flooring to prevent damage. However, we can accommodate either order with full protection measures in place.
Interior and exterior together
If you are already having exterior work done, doing the interior in the same visit usually saves a mobilisation and a second round of disruption.
