How accurate is it?
Close, not exact. The tool measures your roof from aerial imagery, which gets the area and the pitch right most of the time. What it cannot see is the part that moves the price: how many layers are already up there, what the decking underneath is like, how much flashing and venting needs replacing, and whether there is damage an insurance claim should cover.
Treat the number as a realistic budget rather than a quote. It is the right tool for working out roughly what you are looking at before you talk to anyone.
When to book a real inspection instead
- You have a leak or visible damage. Aerial imagery will not find it. Someone needs to be on the roof and in the attic.
- You are making an insurance claim. Adjusters want photographs and a written report, not a web estimate.
- You want a number you can hold us to. An inspection produces a fixed written quote.
- Your roof has more than one layer. Tear-off changes the total significantly, and the tool cannot tell.
Book a free roof inspection — it still costs nothing, and we usually get out within 48 hours.
Either way, the price guarantee applies
